Training Seminar - Jamaica
June 2007

The HIV/AIDS Training Team (Lana Duda, Gary and Peggy Pyatt, Paula Hansen and Dr. Lynn Diaz) conducted two two-day seminars in Kingston and Montego Bay Jamaica. Lana Duda taught on stigma and how it affects those suffering with a disease that is mis-understood and feared. The leaders were very responsive to the training. They desire to be a people who extend a compassionate touch to those stigmatized in their society. The churches have many great programs in place and many innovative ideas on beginning new programs within their churches to help those affected by HIV/AIDS.

We enjoyed jerk chicken, peas and beans, juicy patties, and curry chicken. The warm tropical climate of Jamaica is indicative of the warmness of the Jamaican people's hearts.
